Mississippi HIKE Presentation

On May 30, 2008, Zycori “Cori” Ducksworth, 6½ years old, went to the Magnolia Speech School in Jackson, MS.  Cori had previously received hearing aids and our grant to Cori was for an FM system to go with the aids.  At the Speech School Audiologist Alicia synchronized the FM system with Cori’s current hearing aids, and Audiologist Jennifer checked the appropriate function of the FM system.  Finally, they counseled Cori’s Mom as to how to use the FM system.  As you can see by the pictures, this is one happy little girl.

Texas HIKE Presentation

On March 15, 2008, 12 year old Jonathan Pifer received the gift of an FM System.  The following letter from his mother expressing thanks for this “very generous gift of an FM System for son” is quoted below in part.

“It has been a huge blessing and encouragement to our family for Jonathan to have his very own FM System.  In addition to amplifying his teacher’s voice, he is now able to use a computer headset.  He has found many useful and fun ways to benefit from having the FM System.”

“Please extend our heartfelt thanks to” the many people responsible for this generous gift - San Antonio for forwarding the funds; those who collect and distribute the funds; to the people in Schertz, Texas, for overseeing the process; for the doctor and audiologist for reviewing the application and approving it; and “especially to all the young ladies who must have worked very hard to raise the funds needed to bless our son, Jonathan.”

“We are so grateful that we can bring this most valuable enterprise to the eyes of the public.  We are truly thankful.”
